Abstract

Diabetic nephropathy is a commorıly encountered complication of diabetes mellitus which may result in renal failure. The differentiations of its emerging and prevalence according to types of diabetes and subtypes of genes, indicate that its pathogenesis has multifactorial basis. The high level of mortality and morbidity of diabetic nephropathy emphasizes that the neccesity of prediction and prevention from nephropathy. As we know more about the effects of hyperglicemia, the details of nonenzymatic glucolisation, the step of polyol metabolism, and the importance of protein kinase C activity, we may have new hopes to prevent diabetic nephropathy.
