Abstract
Thirty nine pediatric patiens suspected of gastroeosephageal reflux (GER), were analyzed with 24 hours distal esophageal pH measurement method. The variables read: 1. Mean pH, 2. Median pH, 3. Percentage of readings pH below 4, 4. Total reflux time, 5. Relative reflux time, 6. Area under curve, 7. Number of refluxes, 8. Number of long refluxes, 9. Duration of longest reflux. A very strong correlation was found between the variables 3 to 9 (p<0.01). We believe that this correlation proves the reliability of the method.
