Abstract
A 31 -year-old woman presented to our emergency service with a one-day history of progressive abdominal pain, vomiting and nausea. On physical examination, she had abdominal tenderness mainly on the right lower quadrant. Blood was determined at the digital rectal examination. Abdominal computerized tomography revealed ileocecal intussusception. She underwent a surgical laparotomy and right hemicolectomy and ileotransversostomy including the invaginated segment was performed. The pathological examination of the resection material could not show any underlying pathology. Adult intussusception is a rare pathology, it must be considered as a possible cause with abdominal pain and intestinal obstruction.
