Abstract

Trauma either accidental or intentional is the most important cause of death in children between 1-14 years of age in developed countries. Traumas affecting more than one system are called 'Multiple Traumas'. The first step in treatment of a multitrauma patient is the rapid determination of the affected organs and finding out the life threatening causes. The time is the most valuable criteria in the approach, so, fast decision-making must be a principle. Fast approach and treatment is the result of making the trauma team getting accustomed to the protocols. In this review, the principles of first approach to the multiple trauma patient is discussed.
