Abstract
Avulsion fracture of ischial tuberosity (IT) is a rare kind of fracture which is usually seen in adolescents and athletes. Complications like chronic pain in posterior thigh, leg weakness and hamstring syndrome may occur if the diagnosis delays. Radiologic findings are important for diagnosis. Bony fragment is detected adjacent to inferior ramus of ischium with radiography. Radiography may be inadequate if the trauma happened before the ossification. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging can be performed if the radiography is insufficient for diagnosis and treatment planning. Conservative treatment usually successful in in early diagnosed IT avulsion fractures. Surgical management is preferred in chronic cases. We present the findings of 16 years-old male subject with IT avulsion fracture diagnosed.
