Abstract

COVID-19 disease, which has spread all over the world and becomes a pandemic, is transmitted from human to human through close contact and droplet. The clinical spectrum of COVID-19 ranges from asymptomatic to severe acute respiratory distress and is milder in children. The rate of hospitalization in pediatric intensive care unit for children is very low and death is rare. Children with severe respiratory distress/insufficiency, change of consciousness, shock, multiple organ failure should be monitored in the pediatric intensive care unit. Due to the fact that the virus is highly contagious and its unique properties, approaches to these patients in pediatric intensive care vary from the standard approach.
