Abstract
Meningiomas arise from meningothelial cells and are about one fifth of all intracranial neoplasms. According to the classification of meningiomas based upon the World Health Organization (WHO) 2007, transitional type meningiomas are grade 1 nonglial tumors and are tend to have low recurrence, low aggressive behavior risk. Generally histopathological type of tumor is as well as being the most important recurrence criteria but cannot be sufficient alone. Meningiomas with benign characteristics usually expected to be cured thoroughly by the gross total resection of the tumor. Wide extend of many factors from the tumor site and surgical resection grade to radiological aspects were thought to affect the recurrence of the tumor. In this paper, a transitional type meningioma patient with pregnancy background, contrary to expectations, had rapid increase and severe symptoms due to histological type, was presented.
