Abstract
INTRODUCTION
The research was carried out to evaluate the compliance and factors affecting with isolation precautions of nurses
METHODS
The sample of research was composed of 333 nurses working in two hospitals in İzmir. Data were collected with questionnaire form in accordance with literature and Scale of Compliance with Isolation Precautions
RESULTS
The total mean score of the nurses is 75,52±11,91 and education level, gender and working unit were found to be important factors affecting compliance. It was determined that nurses experienced difficulties in implementing isolation measures due to the lack of materials most frequently ment.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
It is essential that particular attention should be given related to the education of nurses on infection control including isolation precautions, sustainability of this process during professional learning and after graduation, and related to compensation of lack of equipment in health institutions.
