Abstract

Iatrogenic foreign bodies in peritoneal cavity are not uncommon. The patients are asymptomatic sometimes, but frequently have a pseudotumor or rarely gastrointestinal obstruction and hemorrhage. The profession of Surgery has been seriously threatened by the social and legal aspects of the iatrogenic causalties. To decrease the iatrogenic foreign bodies to the acceptable levels, it has to be drawn attention to the meticulous surgical technique and careful control of operative pirinciples.
