Abstract
Idiopathic orbital myositis is the inflammation of the extraocular muscles which is rarely seen in children. The diagnosis is made both clinically and radiologically. Dramatic response to the corticosteroid is regarded as a pathognomonic finding for idiopathic orbital myositis. In this case report, we presented a 14-years-old girl who has no additional systemic disease during the admission to our clinic. She had orbital pain and double vision, periorbital edema, restriction of the right eye outward glance, proptosis, pathological signal in the right lateral rectus muscle in orbital magnetic resonance imaging were detected and she finally diagnosed as idiopathic orbital myositis.
