Abstract
Immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS) describes the worsening of an existing infection or development of an acute symptomatic infection despite immune system recovery. It occurs as a result of increased inflammatory response to previously acquired or asymptomatic opportunistic infections or to previously unrecognized antigens. Here, we present a case of the rarely reported IRIS due to central nervous system involvement during recovery in a patient under antituberculous therapy.
