Abstract

The hepatopancreatobiliary system is subject to controversy in interventional endoscopy, in that it exhibits procedures which comprise the most beneficial ones and others which may prove to be disastrous. Endoscopic sphincterotomy and interventional procedures through sphincterotomy seem to be effective both therapeutically and for palliation in various disease states.
