Abstract

We have compiled 305 cancer cases seen in private practice during the 10 year period from 1981 to 1990. There were 165 male (54.1 %) and 140 female (45.8 %) patients. Among this group, 150 patients (49.18 %) could be followed up 3 months or longer and 90 cases (29.5 %) were followed until death. The most prevalent types of cancer were lung (46 cases-27.9 %) and prostate (13 cases-7.9 %) for male patients and breast cancer (44 cases-31.4 %) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (10 cases-7.1 %) for female patients. Primary site of the cancer could not be identified in 35 cases (11.48 %).
