Abstract

Central venous catheters (CVC) are used in operating rooms, intensive care units and emergency departments for many reasons. Internal jugular vein (IJV) is the suitable place for inserting a catheter because of its low risk of complications and reliability. However there may be some complications during placement and nursing. Malposition of catheters are %14-81 of all complications (1,2). We aim to present a case of malposition of central venous catheter that was inserted by Seldinger technique through IJV into vertebral vein.
