Abstract
Post-mortem caesarian section is a surgical intervention which is performed upon women who die during parturition or in late pregnancy. The aim of the obstetrician who performs this operation is to save the life of the unborn child. Post-mortem caesarian section is a difficult problem for some medicolegal questions. The medicolegal aspects of the procedure are of utmost concern to every obstetrician. In this article the matters relating to the responsibility of the obstetrician and the medicolegal implications in such cases will be dealt with. The opinions given herein are based on legal presumptions and the ethical dimension of the matter.
