Abstract
Primary involvemen respiratory system involvement of the SARS-CoV-2 makes chest imaging, especially chest CT, imaging of choice for diagnosis, evaluation of the findings and severity of the disease, and also follow-up of COVID-19 pneumonia. Chest CT allows fast and accurate diagnosis and is very important in the differential diagnosis of COVID-19 suspected cases with moderate-severe clinical features, and a high pretest probability of COVID-19 in the limitation of molecular diagnostic testing. Typical and fairly typical CT findings of the COVID-19 pneumonia have been described. Radiologist should report these findings with the level of suspicion of COVID-19 pneumonia in a structured reporting system. In this review, the role of radiology and chest imaging in patient management during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, chest CT findings potentially attributable to COVID-19 pneumonia, the evolution of the findings and currently available structured reporting systems were summarized.
