Abstract
AIM: In this study, we compare pulse wave velocity of patients with mitral annular calcifİcation and patients that have similar eardiovaseular risk factors but without mitral annular calcification. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Twenty patients with mitral annular calcification (10 women, mean age: 67 ± 9) and 20 patients that have similar cardiovaseular risk factors but without mitral annular calcification (10 women, mean age: 67 ± 8) were incuded in this study. The transthoracic echocardiography of all patients were done by HP Sonos 5500 machine with 7 Mhz Probe. Pulse wave velocity measurements are done by Micromedical PT6000 machine. RESULTS: Pulse wave velocity of the patients with mitral annular calcifıcation was (8,48 ±1,81 m/s), and pulse wave velocity of the patients without mitral annular calcifıcation was (8,83 ±2,11 m/sn) There was no statistically signifıcant difference between two groups. CONCLUSION: Pulse wave velocity is not effected by mitral anular calcifıcation existence.
