Abstract

AIM: The results of 71 patients who had been operated laparoscopically between January' 99 and July1 2000 in SSK Tepecik Teaching Hospital 3rd Surgery Deparment were presented. MATERIAL and METHOD: Of these patients 33 were women 37 were men. Avarege age was 51.2 years. RESULTS: Mean operation duration were 95.2 minutes and mean hospital stay were 2.5 days. 47 patients with gallblader pathology, 14 patients with ingunal hernia, 5 patints with esophagus pathology, 2 patients with sigmoid colon carcinoma, 2 patients with idiopatic thrombocytopenic purpura and 1 patient with rectal prolapsus were operated laparoscopically. CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that most of the operation in general surgery can be performed safely by laparoscopic technique.
