Abstract
INTRODUCTION
The aim of the study was to compare soluble endothelial receptor (sEPCR) among women who has severe preeclampsia, mild preeclampsia and normal pregnancy.
METHODS
The study was proceeded out at Ataturk University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology between February 2011 and September 2011. Pregnant women who aged between 18-40 and has severe preeclampsia or mild preeclampsia were recruited consecutively study. Each group consisted of 30 patients. A total of 30 patients who have normal pregnancy were included study as control group. A blood sample was taken from all patients and sEPCR test were performed.
RESULTS
sEPCR is highest at severe preeclampsia (238±107 ng/ml) and lowest at normal pregnant patients (72±72 ng/ml) (p<0.01). sEPCR level is lower at mild preeclampsia (134±85 ng/ml) than severe preeclampsia (p<0.01 for each comparision). There was a positive correlation between sEPCR with diastolic and systolic hypertension. (r=0,263 ve r=0,252;sırasıyla).
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
sEPCR is higher in preeclampsia and the level of it increases with the severity of disease.
