Abstract

36 Medical Journals have been published in Izmir between 1908-1991 as far as we can find out. 18 of them have been out of print (% 50). Only 3 (% 16.7) of 18 Journals tlıat are still on print older than 25 years. This research suggest that the number of the readers is insufficient to support and to encourage the level of journals in Izmir although the efforts of investigators and medical authors are quite satisfactory,
