Abstract

AIM: To evaluate The results of transsphenoidal surgery in patients with prolactinoma. MATERIAL and METHOD: 12 patients were diagnosed as prolactinoma, operated by transsphenoidal surgery between September 1994 to May 1997. Total resection was performed in 9 an subtotal resection was performed in 3 patients. RESULTS: Follow up lasted an average of 22.2 months (range 12-36 months) and no serious complication were seen. CONCLUSION: Transsphenoidal surgery in patients with prolactinoma is safe and has a low complication rate.
