Abstract

One hundred forty six patients with the clavicle fractures applied to Uşak and Salihli State Hospitals between 1982 - 1989 years. Seventeen of them are comminuted fractures and had a vertical fragment. The vertical fragment of fractured clavicle have a great risk to brachial neurovascular bundle. Therefore these cases have been treated by open reduction and intramedullary nail fixation. The results of control are excellent in ali cases at sixteen weeks after operation. There were no neurovascular and pieural complication and the fractures were completely healed.
