Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate endoscopic findigs in children with upper gastointestinal tractus bleeding. Approximatel half of the patients presented with melena and history of salicylate administration and upper gastrointestinal tractus bleeding was found. The diagnostic rate of endoscopy showed correlation with period between onset of symptoms and the procedure of endoscopy. The main endoscopic findings were active bleeding lesions, 4 (26.6%); recently bleeding lesions, 4 (26.6%); and nonbleeding lesions, 6 (40%).
