Abstract
Although there are sixty-thousand physicians and approximately 120 medical journals in Turkey, most of them have a publication rate less than 1000 per issue. The multitude of pub- lications coupled with the lack of enthusiasm and support by readers is a major negative im- pact on the quality and regularity of the journals. The turkish physician claimed not to follow the domestic literature satisfactorily in thus faced with a multitude of uncontrolled journals, most of the time of low scientific quality as well. It still seems that a major concern continues to be the reduction of journal numbers and raising the quality of the scentific level of the medical journals published in Turkey.
